Putujući vremenski unazad stižemo do Indije, odakle nas putevi vode preko prostranstava Azije, pa preko ruskih nizija i na zapad sve do Španije i Engleske. Srpskom istorijom bavili su se nemački istoričar Leopold Ranke i Čeh Jireček, mađarski grof Bendžamin Kalaj, slavisti Jan Kolar i Pavel Šafarik i mnogi drugi. Postoje spisi grčko-rimskih pisaca Herodota i Plinija, pa čak i kineskih i turskih, a takođe i Hrvata Franje Račkog, kao i srpskih istoričara Jovana Rajića, Stojana Novakovića, Sime Lukin-Lazića i mnogih drugih, u kojima se spominju Srbi.

Sloveni glavni akteri istorijskih zbivanja
Velesova knjiga, pak, otvara mogućnosti nekih sasvih novih, neočekivanih istraživanja evropske prošlosti, pre svega za autore koji iznova pokreću pitanje slovenske misterije, jer pruža novi smisao pojmovima poput “trojanska zemlja”, “trojansko vreme”, “trojanske staze”, “trojanska vera” (Triglav, Trojno, Trojansko božanstvo…). Ovi termini zapaženi su i u starim ruskim letopisima iz 11. i 12. veka (Priča o prošlim vremenima, Priča o Igorovom puku) i legendama. Oni su, doduše, stvarali zabunu i bili vezivani za rimskog cara Trajana i slično, i pre izučavanja Velesove knjige nisu se dovodili u vezu sa oblastima (“trojanske staze”) koje su naseljavali Sloveni, od Uralske postojbine širom Evrope, šireći “trojansku veru”, kult vedskog trojnog božanstva Triglava u svim njegovim ovaploćenjima, u “trojansko vreme” istorijski definisano kao period od početka 2. milenijuma stare ere do 368. godine (tj. od vremena oca Arija do Busa Belojara). Ovaj period istovremeno se poklapa sa zodijakalnim ciklusom Ovna, po vedsko-slovenskom kalendaru – koledaru.
